BOSTON, Mass. — Eric Gibson broke the program record in the 1000m race as the Dartmouth men's track and field team competed in the Bruce Lehane Scarlet & White Invite at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center on Saturday.
Gibson and
DJ Matusz finished second and third with times of 2:21.94 and 2:22.90.
Isaac Weber also finished in the top 10, taking eighth with a time of 2:27.54.
Baker Pashea finished 17
th with a time of 2:30.47. Gibson is now second on the Ivy League performance list while Matusz is now in the top 10 in program history for the event.
Jamal Cooney set a new PR in the 200m dash, finishing with a time of 22.46 seconds.
Ethan Hughes claimed a 10
th-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.47m.
Matt Krogh took ninth in the shot put with a throw of 13.52m. Yomi Babaloa secured 12
th-place with a new PR of 12.83m.
Albert Velikonja led the way in the 3000m run with a time of 8:08.47, taking third place.
Declan O'Scannlain and
David Appleton finished with in eighth and 10
th, both running for personal bests. O'Scannlain finished the race in 8:14.05 while Apploeton crossed the finish line at 8:17.41.
Krogh later came back to throw a PR in the weight throw with a mark of 15.08m.
Rahul Batlanki claimed a seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 14.30m.
Dartmouth will compete in two meets next weekend. The Big Green will take part in the BU Valentine Invite on Friday followed by the Yale Invite on Saturday.
