Paradine Earns Second Straight Ivy League Rookie of the Week Honor

HANOVER, N.H. — Following a stellar 10-point performance in Tuesday's 20-16 win at Hobart, freshman Emmett Paradine of Dartmouth men's lacrosse has been named Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, as announced on Monday. It also marks the fourth straight week to begin the season that a Big Green freshman has earned the honor after Sam Cooper and Max LaTorre.

Paradine finished Tuesday with seven goals and three assists. He had a goal and two assists in the first half, then exploded for six goals and an assist in the second half. There was one stretch in which he scored four goals in the span of 9:32 bridging the end of the third and beginning of the fourth quarters, helping the Big Green turn a 9-9 tie into a 16-12 lead.

Paradine is currently one of just 11 players nationally to post 10+ points in a game this season (the 10 are tied for second most). He became the first freshman nationally to reach double figures in a game this season and the first Ivy League freshman to reach 10 points in a game since Jeff Teat of Cornell during the 2017 season. Paradine had a hand in half of Dartmouth's 20 goals for the game, with all of his points proving important in a high-scoring affair. The 10 points marked the most points scored by any Big Green player since Brendan Callahan became head coach at Dartmouth.

For the season, Paradine leads the Big Green in goals (14) and points (19) while his five assists are tied for first.

Receiving votes in both the Inside Lacrosse Media and USILA Coaches Polls and one of just three remaining undefeated teams in the nation, the Big Green will return to the field on Sunday at No. 13 North Carolina. Gametime is set for 12 p.m. on ACC Network.
