AMHERST, Mass. — With the Ivy League Heps on the horizon, the Dartmouth men's track and field team competed at the UMass Pre-Championship Invitational on Saturday at the UMass Track & Field Complex.
David Adams and
Sam Starrs took first and second in the pole vault after they both cleared 4.70m.
Mason Childers claimed a victory in the 800m race, finishing with a time of 1:52.68.
Isaac Weber finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:55.53.
Richie Moreno, competing in the 3000m steeplechase for the first time, won the event with a time of 9:42.10.
The group of
Rahul Batlanki,
Nils Wildberg,
Liam Murray, and
Myles Epstein won the 4x100m relay with a time of 41.85 seconds.
Batlanki took second in the long jump with a jump of 6.61m.
Wildberg finished second in the 200m dash with a time of 22.06 seconds while
David Appleton finished with a personal best time of 3:52.53 in the 1500m race, taking third.
In the throws,
Colton McMaster finished third in discus (46.90m) and fourth in shot put (15.59m).
Matt Krogh placed 11
th in the shot put with a throw of 13.64m.
On Friday, McMaster placed sixth in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.95m while Krogh took 13
th with a throw of 43.29.
Dartmouth competes at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend at Penn's Franklin Field. Both days of competition will be available to stream on ESPN+.
