PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — DJ Matusz of the Dartmouth men's track and field team won the 800m race on Sunday at the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships at Penn's Franklin Field.
Matusz finished with a time of 1:49.59 to claim the gold, narrowly beating out Justin O'Toole of Columbia by .18 seconds.

Max Klein grabbed the silver medal in shot put after finishing second in the event with a throw of 17.69m.

The group of
Isaac Weber, Matusz,
J'Voughnn Blake and
Mason Childers ran a season best time of 7:28.85 in the 4x800m relay, finishing third to claim the bronze medal.

Albert Velikonja ran for a personal best time of 14:04.85 in the 5000m race, earning sixth overall and a spot on the podium.
Liam Murray placed sixth in the 400m dash with a time of 47.95 seconds.

Ethan Hughes competed in the final five events of the decathlon on Sunday and finished with a new PR total of 6265 points. Hughes set new personal bests in the 100m hurdles (16.20 seconds), 1500m race (5:07.18), discus (33.93m), and javelin (49.65m).

Harvard claimed the team title with 203 points. Princeton finished in second with 137 points while Cornell took third with 95 points to round out the top three.

Dartmouth looks to carry the momentum into the New England Championships next weekend. Competition is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Northeastern University.
