HANOVER, N.H. — College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its Academic All-District women's tennis teams on Tuesday afternoon and Dartmouth's
Ashley Hess,
Emily Zhou,
Ujvala Jupalli and
Lexi Dewire of the Dartmouth women's tennis program were among the honorees.
To be considered, student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5, have completed at least one full calendar year and reached sophomore athletic eligibility. Dartmouth's four recipients will now go on the ballot for CSC Academic All-America consideration with first, second and third-team honorees to be announced at the end of May.
Senior co-captain Hess, a government and economics major, was Dartmouth's Academic All-Ivy honoree after playing No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles throughout the season. Fellow senior co-captain Zhou, a computer science major, posted a team-high seven singles victories having played as high as No. 3 in the lineup. Engineering sciences major Dewire, a junior, was Zhou's doubles partner and the duo registered a 9-5 mark with the majority of their matches taking place on Court 3. Dewire also picked up a crucial singles victory to help Dartmouth clinch a 4-3 win over Penn on Senior Day. Sophomore Jupalli claimed six singles matches having played mainly at the No. 4 position.
