HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth women's tennis team received an honorable mention for the International Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Community Service Award, announced as part of the association's list of major postseason awards on Tuesday.
The ITA recognizes coaches and student-athletes in 12 different regions with one institution in each receiving a community service award, plus an honorable mention for another worthy program.
Dartmouth student-athletes committed to a variety of community service initiatives over the past year, including Buddy Up Tennis, a program that promotes fitness for children and adults with Down syndrome. The Big Green also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Upper Valley Haven, which both seek to build a stronger community for those in need.
Fairleigh Dickinson received the Northeast Regional Community Service Award.
