BIG GREEN BEGIN FINAL STRETCH OF LEAGUE PLAY
The Big Green will play their last 11 games of the season against only ECAC opponents starting this weekend. They will look to bounce back from their loss to Franklin Pierce on Wednesday when they host No. 11 Princeton and No. 6 Quinnipiac. This will be the second and final time the Big Green face their ECAC Hockey league mates in the regular season.
THE LAST TWO GAMES
Dartmouth travelled to play New Hampshire on New Year's Eve before hosting Franklin Pierce on Jan. 3. The Big Green defeated UNH 5-0 and collected goals from five different scorers. Dartmouth lit the lamp twice in the first and third periods, and once in the second period. First-year goaltender
Eleanor Rogers made 15 saves in her fourth win of the season while also earning the first shut out of her collegiate career.
Three days later, Dartmouth hosted Franklin Pierce to finish their non-league play. The Big Green and Ravens were tied 1-1 headed into the third, but the Raven's' two goal period was too big a comeback as the Big Green fell 3-2.
Kenzie Bachelor and
Lauren Messier, who assisted goals in the victory over New Hampshire, scored the two goals for the Big Green.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton enters Friday's game with a 11-5-2 overall record and a 4-5-2 conference record. This will be Princeton's first game back on United States soil following a sweep of Providence in the Friendship Series in Northern Ireland. The Tigers defeated the Friars 6-1 and 2-1.
Sarah Fillier and Issy Wunder are tied for the team lead in points with 25 while Fillier leads the team in goals (16) and Wunder leads the team in assists (17).
The Tigers have used three goaltenders this season, Uma Corniea, Jennifer Olnowich, and Taylor Hyland. Corniea has played most of the time between the pipes, starting 10 games and collecting a 5-5-1 record. The three have combined for a .912 save percentage.
The Big Green will look to close their season series against the Tigers with a win and bounce back from their 5-2 loss to Princeton earlier this season. Friday night's game will also be a PRIDE game. The Big Green acknowledge that hockey is for everyone and there will be pins available for those who wish to show their support.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
The Quinnipiac Bobcats enter their matchup with the Big Green with a 19-3-1 overall record and an 8-3-0 conference record. The Bobcats hosted Minnesota Duluth last weekend, securing a 2-1 win in the first game and closed out the two-game series with a tie. The Bobcats will face the Harvard Crimson on Friday, prior to Saturday's matchup with the Big Green.
Sadie Peart leads the Bobcats in goals (14) and points (27), while Kate Reilly leads the team with assists (21).
Logan Angers has started almost every game in goal for the Bobcats, collecting an 18-3-1 record. Angers has a .941 save percentage and allows 1.59 goals per game.
The Big Green travelled to Quinnipiac earlier this season and lost a close back and forth matchup, 3-2. The Big Green were able to come from behind twice, but a late goal broke the tie and gave the Bobcats the victory.
Saturday's matchup with the Bobcats will celebrate youth hockey. Anyone under the age of 17 wearing a hockey jersey will receive free admission to the game.
