A Pair Of Doubles Teams Advance In ITA Regional

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.—The Dartmouth women's tennis team had a very successful day at the third day of the ITA New England Regional.

Peyton Capuano and Michela Moore played Isabel Petri Bere and Caroline Hinshaw of UConn in the second round of the doubles tournament. Capuano and Moore advanced to the round of 16 with an 8-5 win. They will face Olivia Benton and Muskan Mahajan from Boston College in the round of 16.

Lexi Dewire and Elizabeth Fahrmeier also advanced to the round of 16 in doubles with an 8-2 win in the round of 32. They defeated a duo from Boston University and will face a duo from Boston College in the round of 16.

Moore advanced to the quarterfinals in the singles with a pair of wins on Saturday. In her first match of the day, she defeated Shiori Ito of Syracuse 6-3, 6-0 to advance. In her second match, she faced Thamonpan Jonglertakul of UMass. Moore won the opening set 6-3 and advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-3 win. In the quarterfinals she will face Phoebe Peus of Brown on Sunday.

Capuano fell in her singles match 6-4, 7-5 to Shyla Aggarwal of Yale.

Capuano, Moore, Dewire, and Fahrmeier are back in action on Sunday in Cambridge as Moore will start the day in singles. Doubles will follow.
