HANOVER, N.H. – In the seventh weekend of the fall season, the Big Green competed in three regattas, taking second place at each of the three regattas they competed in.
At the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals hosted by Boston College, Dartmouth put up 57 points in the A Division and won the B Division, earning 39 points for 96 overall and second place.
Chase Decker and
Phoebe Lee won the B Division for the Big Green, competing in the same field as the Spring's National Championship. The pair started with a second-place finishing position followed by a fourth place finishing position in the second race. They concluded racing with a fourth-place finishing position to narrowly beat Stanford in the B Division by one point.
At the Yale Women's Interconference,
Faye Benjamin and
Bella Casaretto tied for first in the B Division with 52 to points to help Dartmouth to a second-place finish. The Big Green put up 68 points in the A Division for 120 total points, beating third place Harvard by 21 points.
The Big Green remained in first place through seven races of the regatta, earning ten straight top five finishing positions between the two divisions. The Yale Bulldogs narrowly passed them but the Big Green battled back, jumping back into first place through the ninth and tenth set of races.
Yale eventually pulled back ahead but Dartmouth still earned four top ten finishing positions over the last set of races to clinch second place.
At the Oberg Trophy, the Big Green won the A Division with 42 points, helping Dartmouth to their third second place finish of the weekend. The B Division posted 44 points and the C Division earned 49 points for 135 total.
The Big Green began a steady climb into second place starting in the sixth set of races earning all top ten finishing positions including three first place finishes, two from the A Division and one from the B Division.
For the final regular season weekend of the fall season, Dartmouth will head back to Yale for the Schell Trophy, also traveling to Brown for the Women's Urn Trophy and Tufts for the Nickerson Trophy. Racing will be on Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27.
