HAMDEN, Conn.—The Dartmouth women's rugby team improved to 6-0 on Saturday with a 31-15 win over Quinnipiac.
The Big Green opening the scoring less than halfway through the opening half. Annie Henrich notched her fifth try of the season to give Dartmouth a 5-0 lead. She then drilled the conversion to make it 7-0 Big Green.
Less than 10 minutes later, Vasiti Turagavou gave the Big Green a 12-0 lead. Henrich then stepped up and notched her second conversion of the game to put Dartmouth up 14-0.
Turagavou wasn't done as she notched her second try of the game at the 9:53 mark of the first half. Henrich converted her third conversion to give Dartmouth a 21-0 lead.
The Bobcats got on the board with a penalty kick with just over five minutes remaining in the first half.
Quinnipiac notched its first try at the 26:17 mark of the second half and then hit the conversion to cut the Dartmouth lead to 21-10.
Katelyn Walker took over the match following the Bobcat try as she scored her first try at the 14:44 mark and then put the match out of reach with a try with just over 11 minutes remaining in the match.
Quinnipiac added a try as time expired but it was not enough as the Big Green notched its sixth win of the season.
Coming into the match, the Big Green sat atop the NIRA standings, Dartmouth is the lone remaining undefeated team in NIRA.
Dartmouth closes out the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Brophy Field as Brown travels to Hanover.
