HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth women's rugby team completed an undefeated regular season on Saturday as they defeated Brown 60-19 at Brophy Field.
The Big Green opened the scoring just under four minutes into the opening half as Katelyn Walker powered into the try zone to give Dartmouth an early 5-0 lead.
Less than four minutes later at the 7:20 mark, Paola Arredondo Almeida made it a 10-0 game, Annie Henrich hit the conversion to increase the Dartmouth lead to 12-0.
Katija Crawford increased the lead at the 20:24 mark to make it a 17-0 lead.
Brown got the on the board at the 31:39 mark of the first half to make it a 17-5 Dartmouth lead.
Crawford got her second try of the game less than three minutes later which was followed by a Henrich conversion to make it a 19 point Dartmouth lead.
Henrich got into the try zone at the at the 36:32 mark of the opening half, she then stepped up and drilled the conversion to increase the lead to 31-5.
The 31-5 lead held until halftime as Dartmouth looked to close out the win in the second half.
Senior captain Sadie Schier scored her first try of the season just over three minutes into the second half to make it a 36-5 lead.
Less than two minutes later, Henrich notched her second try of the game to put the Big Green up 41-5 early in the second half.
Brown cut into the Dartmouth lead with a try and a conversion before Sierra Santiago found the try zone. Henrich increased the Dartmouth lead to 36 following a conversion.
At the 63:50 mark of the match, Josie Harrison used a combination of speed and power to find the try zone to make it a 53-12 lead.
Just under 12 minutes later, Kellie Miller made it 58-12 with a try which was followed by another Henrich conversion.
Brown added a try and a conversion at the end of regulation to make the final score 60-19.
With the win, Dartmouth completed an undefeated regular season for the third time in the last four seasons. Dartmouth is the only team in NIRA to finish the regular season undefeated.
Prior to the match, Dartmouth honored the 2018 NIRA Divisional Championship team as they were inducted into the Wearers of the Green. Following the match, Dartmouth honored its senior class.
The Big Green return to Brophy Field on Nov. 16 to play in the NIRA Semifinals. The time and opponent will be announced in the coming days.
