The Big Green earned four 3-0 sweeps on Sunday

HANOVER, N.H. — The 10th ranked Dartmouth men's squash team opened its season on Sunday with a convincing 7-2 win over No. 13 Rochester. Senior Christian Shah picked up a hard-fought 3-2 win at the No. 2 position, while the Big Green were victorious at positions four through nine.

Shah was trailing after three games, winning the first (11-7) before losing the second and third (11-6 and 11-4). But he bounced back with wins of 11-9 and 11-8 to get the Big Green the point at No. 2.

Among Dartmouth's six other wins were four 3-0 sweeps: senior Quintin Campbell at No. 4, first-year Brandon Wang at No. 6, junior Felix Feldman at No. 7 and junior Warren Klein at No. 9.

Junior Rana Thakkar earned a hard-fought 3-2 victory at No. 8 in a matchup that took over an hour. Rochester's Vandrick Inman-Venavente came up with the 16-14 win to start, but Thakkar held an 11-9 edge in the second game before capturing the fourth and fifth games, 12-10 and 11-6, respectively.

Sophomore Callan Venkatesan also picked up a 3-1 victory at the No. 5 position.

The Big Green return to the courts on Wednesday, Dec. 4 when they host No. 5 Harvard at 5 p.m.
