HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth women's rugby team fell 19-12 in the NIRA Division I Championship on Saturday evening at Burnham Field.
The first 20 minutes of the match saw both teams battle for field position with both teams coming up just short of the try line.
In the 23rd minute the Crimson struck first as they scored a try and then hit the conversion to make it 7-0.
Less than 10 minutes later, Harvard made it 12-0 with its second try of the game.
As the first half came to an end the Big Green got on the board. Dartmouth used a quick transition to get on the board. Annie Henrich used her speed to get to the outside, she then made a quick pass to Katelyn Walker who sprinted to the try zone to make it 12-5.
Just over six minutes into the second half Cindy Taulava powered into the try zone following a long run from Vasiti Turagavou. Following the try, Henrich stepped up and hit the conversion to tie the game at 12.
The Crimson scored the eventual game winning try at the 57:30 mark and hit the conversion to make it 19-12.
Dartmouth finishes the season with an 8-1 overall record while finishing 7-0 in the regular season. The Big Green have won seven or more matches in three of the last four seasons.
The Big Green are back on the pitch in the spring as they will compete in 7's.
