Madeleine Locher's 5000m run highlighted a strong start to the Dartmouth Men's and Women's Indoor Track season at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener and Ivy vs. HBCU Challenge on Saturday.
"Today was a great start to our indoor track & field season. We had several high-level performances that indicate we're moving in the right direction. Our speed/power student-athletes had success at the Ivy League vs HBCU Challenge. We also had a few distance runners at BU and they all competed well.
Madeleine Locher's 15:45 5000m at BU was a highlight. That performance will rank her in the top 25 of the NCAA. At the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, Locher ran a 15:45 in the 5000m, which puts her 19
th in the nation amongst D1 runners in the 5000m.
At the Ivy vs. HBCU Challenge,
Mariella Schweitzer ran an 8.47 in the 60m hurdles to place her second on the Top 10 list in the event
Colton McMaster finished first in the weight throw, with a throw of 19.28m. He also placed second in the shot put, with a throw of 16.60
In the 600m,
Adrien Jacobs ran a time of 1:18.65. The time places him second on the Top 10 list. In the same event,
Keion Grieve ran a 1:23.84 to claim the seventh spot on the Top 10 list.
Bryce Thomas ran a 6.82 to put him third all-time in the event in program history in the 60m dash.
The men's and women's indoor track teams are back in action when they host the Dartmouth December Invite on Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 in Hanover.
