HANOVER, N.H. — After 22 student-athletes were named to the National Academic Squad and garnered Scholars of Distinction recognition, the Dartmouth field hockey team has also been recognized with a team academic award by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. The award is presented to teams with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
The Big Green posted a stellar 3.78 grade point average this fall, tied with Stanford for the second-best mark in Division I field hockey. It was also the best mark in the Ivy League.
This marks the fifth straight season Dartmouth earned a top-five GPA, with second place being its highest standing. The Big Green have enjoyed stellar success in the classroom. Four-year honorees on the academic squad included
Payton Altman,
Meg Barnes,
Lila Browne,
Caroline Carr and
Rory Williamson.
Meanwhile, Browne, sophomore
Boau-Lilly Shepherd and first-years
Lucia Campaño,
McLaine Leik and
Kylie McKinley were all named Scholars of Distinction for owning cumulative GPAs of 3.9 or higher through the fall semester.
