PROVIDENCE, R.I. — With the final day of the 2024 Ivy League Championships in the books, the Dartmouth women's swimming and diving team finished eighth with 475 total points, surpassing last season's point total by more than 200.
"I'm proud of our team, and especially our upperclassmen for leading the way and setting the stage for our first-years," said head coach
Milana Socha. "It's very exciting to see the growth and improvement, especially from such a young group."
In a four-day meet that featured a pair of program records, the Big Green capped it off with several B finalists on Saturday.
Lane Murray, who was a member of both record-setting relays, was 13th in the 100 free with a time of 50.73 seconds.
Kathy Jia was a B finalist in the 200 breast, earning 12th at 2:16.08.
Carly Joerin,
Julianne Jones and
Vivian Mudry appeared in the event's C final with Joerin leading the way in 18th (2:18.55).
Jamieson Legh in the 200 fly rounded out the B finalists for swimmers and placed 16th with a time of 2:02.25.
Sydney Rawie led the Big Green in the 1650 free, placing 15th at 16:54.58.
Maggie Lambdin and
Claire Cornell both competed in the 3-meter dive B Final with Lambdin leading the way, scoring a 239.30 to place 12th. Cornell was 15th with a score of 218.75.
In the final event of the championships, The Big Green placed sixth in the 400 free relay with
Carinn Bethea, Jia, Legh and Murray besting Penn with a time of 3:22.20.
Princeton took home the title with 1,403 points and Harvard was second, while Yale followed in third.
Still with opportunities to continue their growth, the Big Green now turn their attention to the NCAA Diving Zone Championships, as well as the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.
