HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's tennis team is off to a 5-0 start for a second straight season after picking up a 6-1 win over Purdue on Friday afternoon inside Boss Tennis Center. The Big Green now have two victories over Big Ten opponents to their credit, having already defeated Indiana.

"A great team win today and a great week for the Big Green," said Justin DeSanto, Dartmouth's John Kenfield and Chuck Kinyon Head Coach. "This win marks two over Big Ten squads in exactly a week, but most importantly, it's a testament to the work these guys have been putting in every day on the practice court."

Dartmouth earned the doubles point with wins in the top two positions as Alex Knox-Jones and Henry Ren (No. 1) improved to 4-0 on the season. Carlos Guerrero Alvarez and Hikaru Takeda notched their second straight win at the No. 2 position.

Guerrero Alvarez earned a two-set win at the No. 1 position to help the Big Green claim five of six singles matches. Each came in straight sets, including a convincing 6-0, 6-3 victory for Logan Chang on Court 6. Takeda and Yujiro Onuma both improved to 4-0 on the season in singles.

"I'm very proud of the guys for the way they have been competing and supporting each other," DeSanto added. "It's been fun to be out there on the court with them and I am looking forward to another tough opponent in St. John's tomorrow.

Dartmouth's match against the Red Storm in Boss Tennis Center on Saturday, Feb. 3 begins at 11 a.m.
