HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth men's lacrosse sophomore attackman
Hopper Zappitello has been recognized on the USILA National Team of the Week following his stellar eight-point effort in Saturday's win over Holy Cross. Zappitello scored two goals and dished six assists, the most by a Big Green player since Ben Martin dished seven on Apr. 11, 2017 against UMass Lowell.
Following a goal and two assists in the first half, Zappitello broke out with a goal and four assists in the second half alone. After Holy Cross pulled within 11-8 midway through the fourth, Zappitello had a hand in each of the game's final three goals, dishing two assists and scoring a behind-the-back goal that made SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Day, as the Big Green wrapped up the 14-8 victory.
Zappitello, who entered the game with four career points, was one of two Ivy League student-athletes recognized on the team of the week (along with Yale's Matt Brandau).
The Big Green return to action on Saturday when they travel to Siena to face the Saints. Opening faceoff is set for 11 a.m. on Siena All-Access.
