HANOVER, N.H. — Senior
Dusan Neskovic of the Dartmouth men's basketball team was recognized on Wednesday for his success on and off the court, earning Academic All-Ivy distinction. Neskovic led the Big Green in scoring (16.0) to go with four rebounds per contest.
Academic All-Ivy designation is awarded to third and fourth-year student-athletes who made significant contributions to their respective teams while maintaining good academic standing.
Last season, Neskovic was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team, owning a strong grade point average as an economics major.
On the court this season, Neskovic played in 23 games, starting 16 while eclipsing 20 points on nine occasions. He ended the season, and his Dartmouth career, with 20-point efforts in four of his last six games. Neskovic began the season with 23 points at Duke then three games later, scored a career-high 24 at Saint Louis. He finished seventh in the Ivy League in scoring average and eighth in field goal percentage (43.2).
Neskovic scored 20+ in back-to-back road nonconference games (Duke and Saint Louis) for the first time since Alex Barnett in 2008. His nine 20+ point efforts on the season marked the most by a Big Green player since Evan Boudreaux also had nine in 2016-17.
The Big Green's season wasn't what they had hoped, but there were plenty of highlight moments, including three wins over teams that finished top four in their conference standings — New Hampshire (fourth, America East), Boston University (second, Patriot League) and Brown (fourth, Ivy League). Tuesday's win over Harvard came against a team that was in contention for Ivy Madness until this past Saturday, and a team that finished with an above .500 record.
