HANOVER, N.H. — The College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) recently announced its Women's Tennis Academic All-District Teams, and Dartmouth's
Lexi Dewire,
Elizabeth Fahrmeier,
Katie Weber and
Brooke Hess each made the grade.
To be considered, student-athletes (sophomores and up) must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5, along with a match participation requirement.
This week's announcement marked another classroom honor for Dewire, who was also named to the Academic All-District Team following the 2023 season. After a successful senior campaign, the engineering sciences major earned a First Team All-Ivy Doubles accolade, along with a spot on the Academic All-Ivy Team. She and fellow Academic All-District member Fahrmeier turned in a 9-5 record at No. 1 doubles, including an Ivy League-best 6-1 mark within the conference circuit. Dewire also put together a 10-6 singles record, mainly playing on Court 3.
Fahrmeier, in addition to her First Team All-Ivy status, was named the team's Most Improved Player as the program recently handed out its postseason awards. As a junior in 2024, the government major returned from injury and in addition to her doubles success, played at the No. 4 singles position throughout Ivy League play and earned an important win during the Big Green's victory over Cornell.
Weber, a senior psychology major, was 6-4 in singles, mostly featured at the No. 6 position, and picked up a victory over her Harvard opponent in the season finale. She also added a doubles victory with Hess as her partner during the Big Green's victory over Penn at the ECAC Championship.
Hess, whose sister Ashley was named to the Academic All-District Team as a senior in 2023, was a fixture in the doubles lineup at the No. 3 position throughout Ivy League play in addition to a handful of singles matches. The sophomore earned a win over Brown at No. 3 doubles playing with
Caroline Lemcke, and earlier in the season, helped the Big Green to a 2-0 start to the non-conference slate by winning each of her first two singles matches against Army and Boston University.
