HANOVER, N.H. – On Monday, Head Coach of Dartmouth Women's Hockey Maura Crowell announced the six members of the Class of 2028, joining the Big Green ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Crowell and the rest of the women's hockey staff will add two goaltenders, two defenders, and two forwards to the roster.
First, the Dartmouth women's hockey program will welcome its first of two goaltenders, Micheala Hesová. The Czech Republic native attended Bishop Kearney High School in New York, playing for the Bishop Kearney Selects as well as the Czechia national team over the past few years.
This past season, Hesová posted a 0.40 goals against average and a .967 save percentage in five games for the Czech Selects U18 team, and a 1.24 GAA in four games for the Bishop Kearney Selects. Hesová hopes to major in psychology at Dartmouth and has been recognized for her success in the classroom, especially in sports marketing, personal finance, and biology.
Forward
Ella Inglis from Pickering, Ontario tallied 24 points this season with the Durham West Junior Lightning U22 team. The left shot attended Dunbarton High School, also competing as a cross country, field hockey, soccer, and track and field athlete.
Inglis also has three championships to her name, winning the U18 League Championship, the Provincial Championship (OWHA), and the Esso Cup for the Canadian National Women's U18 Championship.
Hailey Maguire is one of two defenders joining the Big Green this season. The Whitby, Ontario native spent the last few years at Crestwood Preparatory College. Maguire also played for the Central York Panthers for the last two years and played in the Durham West Lightning organization.
Similarly to future teammate Inglis, Maguire has won her fair share of championships; the 2022 U18 Canadian Esso Cup, the CISSA League Championship, and represented Team Ontario at the U18 Canada National Hockey Championship.
Bridget Pringle, a forward from Clayton, Ontario, spent last season at Stanstead College, posting nine points in 40 games. Her best season came with the Nepean Wildcats of the OWHL U22 AA team in 2022-23 when she posted 15 points (2-13-15) in 43 games.
In addition to ice hockey, Pringle was also a soccer and cross-country athlete, earning MVP and Female Athlete of the Year Honors.
Sydney Putrah, a defender from Faribault, Minnesota, is no stranger to Dartmouth and the women's hockey program. Her sister, Currie, was a member of the Big Green from 2019 to 2023, serving as a captain during her senior year.
At Shattuck-St. Mary's for five years, Putrah posted 103 points in 219 career games from the blue line. She also won back-to-back USA Hockey National Championships. She also participated in the USA Hockey National Development Camp and the USA Hockey National Select Camp.
Last but not least, the Big Green will welcome Grace Zhan, a goaltender from Beijing, China. Zhan, playing in high school at the Hill-Murray School, was named the 2024 Female Athlete of the Year as well as Senior Goalie of the Year. The second ranked goaltender at this year's IIHF Women's World Championship, Zhan posted a 2.57 goals against average and a .940 save percentage at the tournament.
At the Hill-Murray School, Zhan secured a 1.39 GAA, a .946 save percentage, and six shutouts in 31 games. She was also named to the Star Tribune All-State First Team and the MSHSL Girls Hockey State Tournament All-Tournament Team.
The Big Green and their six incomers will get conference play underway at the end of October, travelling to RPI and Union. The remainder of the Big Greens 2024-25 schedule will be announced within the next few weeks.
