HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth men's lacrosse assistant coach
Matt Whitcher has been named a Premier Lacrosse League All-Star, as a short-stick defensive midfielder on the Eastern Conference All-Stars. A standout for the Philadelphia Waterdogs, Whitcher has emerged as one of the top defensive midfielders in the sport. This season, he owns seven groundballs and five caused turnovers through five games.
Whitcher has also scored two goals, both coming in the season opener against the Archers. He has tallied at least one caused turnover in four of the five games this season. Whitcher has collected six groundballs over his last two games, with four against the Chaos and two vs. the Cannons.
The All-Star appearance is the latest honor in a decorated professional career for Whitcher, who was also a 2022 PLL Champion with the Waterdogs.
The All-Star Game is set for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN.
