CARY, N.C. – Sophomores
Peyton Capuano and
Michela Moore made their way south this weekend, competing at the ITA All-American Championships.
Both Capuano and Moore played singles matches and competed together as a doubles pair.
Moore played in the Big Green's first match of the day, facing Ohio State's Audre Spencer in her singles match. Spencer took the first set, 6-2 and despite battling in the second set, ultimately fell 7-6.
Capuano competed in the Big Green's second singles match, playing Baylor's Kennedy Gibbs. Gibbs took the first set 6-1, but Capuano battled back, taking the second set, 6-2. Gibbs finished the match with a 6-2 victory to earn the win.
Later in the afternoon, Moore and Capuano took the court against Lara Stojanovski and Maya Urata of Penn for their doubles match. The Big Green pair took both sets, defeating their opponents 6-3 and 6-2 to advance doubles competition tomorrow.
Moore and Capuano will play in the Round of 16 tomorrow at 6:30 p.m.
