HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's tennis opened the 2024 Fall Foliage Fest on Friday at the Boss Tennis Center. The Big Green won nine of a possible 12 matches as they took on UConn.
Peyton Capuano played in the top singles match and won 6-2, 7-5 to open the day.
Michela Moore played in the second singles match and made quick work of her opponent winning 6-1, 6-2.
First year Sam Grosjean won her first collegiate match in the fourth singles match. She fell in the first set 6-4 but responded in the second set 6-1. In the tiebreaker set, she completed the comeback win with a 10-4 win.
Valentina Cruz swept the opening set of the fifth singles match 6-0 and completed the match sweep with a 6-4 win in the second set.
Sophomore Caroline Lemcke opened her season with a 6-2 win in the first set of her match. After falling 6-2 in the second set, she responded with a 10-4 win in the tiebreaking set.
Elise Wong opened her collegiate career with a three-set win. She won 6-3 in the opening set. She fell 7-6 in the second set but secured the win in the third set with a 10-4 win.
Lauren Han closed out singles play with a sweep. She won the opening set 6-2 and secured the sweep with a 6-2 win in the second set.
In doubles action, the Big Green won a pair of matches. Capuano and Grosjean teamed up and won 6-1 in the third doubles match.
Han and Lemcke closed out doubles play with a 6-1 win in the fourth doubles match.
The Big Green are back in action on Saturday starting at 1:15 p.m. against Boston College in doubles. Dartmouth will then take on Gonzaga in both doubles and singles.
