HANOVER, N.H.—Dartmouth women's tennis continued the Fall Foliage Fest on Saturday as the Big Green took on Gonzaga.
The Big Green opened the day with a sweep in doubles. Lexi Dewire and Elise Wong played in the first doubles position and defeated the top doubles team from Gonzaga 6-1.
In the second doubles match, Valentina Cruz and Sam Grosjean downed the Gonzaga duo 6-2.
The duo of Lauren Han and Caroline Lemcke completed the sweep in the third doubles position with a 6-1 win.
Michela Moore opened singles for the Big Green with a straight set win in the top singles position. She won the first set 7-5 before taking the match with a 6-3 win in the second set.
Peyton Capuano notched a two-set win in second singles. She took the opening set 6-2 and completed the sweep with a 6-3 second set win.
Han picked up her second win of the day with a three-set win in singles. She fell 6-2 in the opening set but then won six straight games in the second set to even the match at one. In the third and final set she won 10-3 to take the comeback win.
Wong opened her singles match with a 6-2 win in the first set and then completed the sweep with a 6-1 win in the second set.
After a doubles win, Lemcke got her second win of the day in singles. She won her opening set 6-1 and closed out the match with a 6-3 win in the second set.
Both Cruz and Grosjean faced members of the Boston College team in singles on Saturday. Cruz fell in her first singles set 7-5 but forced a tiebreaker in the second set with a 6-4 win. In the tiebreaker set, she took the win with a 10-5 set win.
Grojean closed out the day with a 6-0, 6-1 sweep in the final singles match of the day.
The Big Green close out the Fall Foliage Fest on Sunday with singles matches against Boston College starting at noon at the Thompson Outdoor Courts.
