HANOVER, N.H.—The Dartmouth field hockey team defeated Bryant 3-2 in overtime on Sunday afternoon.
Neither team scored in the first half. Dartmouth outshot Bryant 7-1 in the opening half. Dartmouth had three shots on goal in the first half while Isabel Andrews turned away the lone Bulldog shot on goal.
2:50 into the third quarter Riley Dumigan drew a foul in front of the Bryant cage and the Big Green were awarded a penalty stroke. Ella Bowman stepped to the spot and wristed a shot into the top right corner of the cage. It was her third goal of the season and her third goal in the last four games.
Just under six minutes later the Bulldogs tied the game at one off the transition.
In the third quarter, Dartmouth outshot Bryant 6-2 with Dartmouth having four shots on goal. After 45 minutes of play, the Big Green had generated seven penalty corners.
The Bulldogs scored off a penalty corner with less than nine minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Big Green drew six penalty corners in the fourth quarter and on their sixth corner of the quarter, they converted. Dumigan inserted the ball and Florentina Terra stopped the ball at the top of the circle. Lucia Campaño fired the ball towards the left side of the cage. Dumigan got her stick on the ball and deflected the ball into the cage for her first goal of the season at the 1:29 mark of the fourth quarter.

Neither team scored in the final 89 seconds of regulation and the game went to overtime.
With less than four minutes remaining in the first overtime session the Big Green controlled the ball in their own end. Raina Johns passed the ball to Olivia Galiotos, Galiotos carried the ball through the midfield. Galiotos found Campaño cutting to the middle of the field and passed her the ball. Campaño then sprinted to the middle of the circle, made a defender miss, and beat the goalie five hole to give the Big Green the win.

The Big Green outshot the Bulldogs 24-5, the 24 shots are a new season high, Dartmouth also tallied 14 shots on goal. Dartmouth earned 14 penalty corners which is also a new season high.
Campaño and Galiotos each had three shots on goal which was a game high. Helen Young recorded two shots on goal while also recording a defensive save.
Andrews tallied her first collegiate win as she made two saves on the game.
Dartmouth hits the road on Friday, Oct. 4 as they take on Brown starting at 4 p.m.
