Eric Sankey led Dartmouth

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On Saturday afternoon, the Dartmouth men's cross country team finished fourth with 97 points at the Shawn M. Nassaney XC Invitational (5k). The Big Green opened the 2024 season on the road.

"The men ran smart, using the workout as a primer to start the season, lead by Eric Sankey in seventh," said Interim Cross Country/Distance Coach, Ben True '08.

Junior Eric Sankey led the pack at 15:58.2 placing seventh.

Senior Ben Williams finished fourteenth at 16:12.4.

Sophomore Patrick Dowd ran a 16:16.8 and placed seventeenth.

Junior Baker Pashea finished eighteenth at 16:16.9.

Sophomore Tyler Schill finished at 17:40.7.

"We were excited to get the 2024 Big Green cross-country season started! The team has been working hard and it was great to see some of our student-athletes get the opportunity to compete today," said Mike Nelson, Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country.

"I think Ben True is doing an excellent job with the team's training and we're looking forward to our home meet next weekend. Go Big Green!"

Dartmouth returns to action as they race at its only home meet in the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invite in Hanover on Saturday, Sept. 14.
