Caroline Livingston led the Big Green

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On Saturday afternoon, the Dartmouth women's cross country team finished first with 32 points at the Shawn M. Nassaney XC Invitational (5k). The Big Green opened the season with a strong start to the 2024 campaign.

"The women ran together as a strong pack, easily winning with 32 points— 21 points ahead of 2nd place," said Interim Cross Country/Distance Coach, Ben True '08.

Senior Caroline Livingston led the Big Green finishing fourth at 18:48.4.

Junior Andie Murray finished at 18:48.9, placing fifth.

Senior Bella Pietrasiewicz placed sixth at 18:49.5.

Junior Katherine Strong finished at 18:49.8 placing seventh.

Junior Esme Huh finished tenth at 19:05.9.

"We were excited to get the 2024 Big Green cross-country season started! The team has been working hard and it was great to see some of our student-athletes get the opportunity to compete today," said Mike Nelson, Marjorie & Herbert Chase '30 Director of Dartmouth Track & Field and Cross Country.

"I think Ben True is doing an excellent job with the team's training and we're looking forward to our home meet next weekend. Go Big Green!"

Dartmouth returns to action as they race at its only home meet in the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invite in Hanover on Saturday, Sept. 14.
