Stavroff and Zhan Named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week

HANOVER, N.H.—Hayden Stavroff of Dartmouth men's hockey and Jiahui Zhan of Dartmouth women's hockey have been named The Richards Group Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes – one male athlete or team, one female athlete or team– as Athletes of the Week.

Hayden Stavroff, Columbus, Ohio, Sophomore, Men's Hockey

Hayden Stavroff opened the season with four goals in two games for the Big Green. He opened the season with a hat-trick against Stonehill on Saturday night and then scored the first goal of the game on Sunday against Yale. The sophomore ended the weekend with seven shots on goal and a +3 rating and three blocked shots. It is the second straight season that Stavroff has started the season strong. In 2024-25 he started the season with four goals and two assists through the first four games of the season.

Jiahui Zhan, So., Beijing, China, Women's Hockey

Jiahui Zhan was dominant in the Big Green's 3-0 win over No. 9 Clarkson Saturday, making 33 saves in the shutout victory. The sophomore made double digit saves in the first two periods, 16 in the first and 13 in the second. The Big Green allowed only four shots in the final frame, and Zhan stopped all of them. This is Zhan's first win this season and first shutout victory with the Big Green. With the shutout, she boasts a 0.88 goals against average and a .974 save percentage this season.
