HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth head men's lacrosse coach Sean Kirwan announced the Big Green's 2026 schedule on Monday, featuring 13 games, five at home and eight on the road. Six of the Big Green's 13 opponents have made the NCAA Tournament within the past two seasons. Eleven of their 13 have made the NCAA Tournament at least once since 2022, and the Big Green will face two of the last five national championships.
After home scrimmages against St. John's and Tufts on Feb. 1 and 7, the Big Green open their season at Boston University on Sunday, Feb. 15. The Terriers are a perennial contender in the Patriot League, having won the 2022 Patriot League title.
Dartmouth travels to Vermont six days later on Saturday, Feb. 21 to face America East contender Vermont, who the Big Green defeated last season, 14-9.
Dartmouth returns home for its home opener on Tuesday, Feb. 24 to host Merrimack. The Big Green remain home four days later, welcoming Siena on Saturday, the 28th.
March kicks off with a trip to Utah to face the 2024 Atlantic Sun Champion Utes on Saturday, Mar. 7. Three days later, the Big Green head to Connecticut to face the Fairfield Stags, who are coming off a strong 12-3 season.
After a break for final exams, Dartmouth opens Ivy League play at Harvard, an NCAA Tournament team from last season, on Friday, Mar. 20. That precedes a matchup at 2021 national champion Virginia on Monday, Mar. 23. It will feature Coach Kirwan against the Cavaliers, where he served as offensive coordinator for seven seasons and won national titles in 2019 and 2021. Assistant coach and offensive coordinator Mikey Herring is also a UVA alum, class of 2019, and national champion as a player.
The rest of the season features Ivy League matchups, all on Saturdays. The Big Green host Penn on Mar. 28 and Yale on Apr. 4 before traveling to Brown on Apr. 11, hosting defending national champion Cornell on Apr. 18 and traveling to Princeton to close the regular season on the 25th.
In the first weekend of May, the Ivy League Tournament, featuring the top four in the standings, will be held at the number one overall seed and regular season champion.
The Big Green wrapped up the 2025 season with an 8-5 record, marking their most wins since 2006. With Ivy League victories over Penn and Brown, it's also the first time they had multiple Ivy wins since 2010, as Dartmouth will look to carry the momentum into 2026 and beyond.
