PRINCETON, N.J. – One team record has already been broken after Day 1 of the women's swim and dive Ivy League Championships from Princeton on Wednesday evening.
Â
"Our 200 medley relay squad was on fire - breaking records and barriers. Kathy led the way with a monster breaststroke split. I'm very excited for what these women can do the rest of the week," said Head Coach
Milana Socha.
Â
The 200 medley relay of
Jamieson Legh,
Kathy Jia,
Lane Murray and Sam Li broke a team record with a time of 1:39.91. This is also the first time any Dartmouth relay has been under 1:40 in that event. Jia's 27.94 breaststroke split highlighted the event.
Â
"The 800 free relay was chaos at the start with tough officiating so I'm really proud of the way our women collected themselves and still swam their best races," added Socha.
Â
The 800 free relay saw an impressive 1:48.45 split from
Sydney Rawie that marked a new lifetime best.
Maddie Blackwell,
McLane Gmelich and
Izzy Mundee were the other three swimmers in the relay that ended with a time of 7:26.00.
Â
The current rankings are as follows.
1.Princeton - 120
2.Brown – 108
3.Yale – 106
4.Penn – 102
5.Dartmouth – 98
