DOVER, N.H. – The Big Green travelled to Dover for the first day of the UNH Carnival, Friday. Dartmouth won both the men's and women's nordic races as well as the men's giant slalom.
Men's Nordic skiers won the day, once again led by
John Steel Hagenbuch. He posted a 19:04.70 in the 7.5K Classic to earn first place, his ninth podium this season and seventh first place finish.
Luke Allan finished just under four seconds shy of the podium, finishing in 19:45.70 to earn fourth place.
Cooper Camp rounded out the top ten for the Big Green, finishing in just over 20 seconds to earn seventh place overall.
Asa Chalmers was the next Big Green finisher, posting a 20:36.70 for 16
th overall.
Dustin Hay (21:02.70) and
Aidan Jacobus (21:27.80) also finished for the Big Green.
On the women's Nordic side, the Big Green swept the podium as
Jasmine Drolet,
Ava Thurston, and
Nina Seemann finished one, two, and three. Drolet, in her first race since the St. Lawrence Carnival won the 7.5K posting a 21:42.30. Thurston finished less than four seconds behind with a 21:46.10 to earn second while Seemann earned her second podium in as many weekends with a 22:10.10, good for third place.
Tatum Witter was the next Big Green finisher, posting a 33:18.70 for seventh place overall.
Emma Reeder rounded out the top ten, finishing in 22:37.80.
Maeve Ingelfinger rounded out Big Green finishers in 12
th place with a 22:39.
On the Giant Slalom, the men earned two podium finishes.
Oscar Zimmer won the race, posting a 2:13.10 for his first podium of the season. Just over half a second behind was
Benny Brown, whose 2:13.61 earned him third place.
Dan Gillis was right on his toes, taking fourth place with a 2:13.88.
Louis Latulippe was the next Big Green finisher, posting a 2:15.43 to finish in 16
th.
Philip Lundquist also finished for Dartmouth (2:18.81).
The women were led by
Riley Grosdidier whose 2:18.08 was good for third overall, earning her first podium of the season. Just on her heels was
Carly Elsinger posting a 2:18.18 to finish in fourth.
Izzy Washburn (2:19.62),
Zoe Zimmermann (2:19.91), and
Emma Resnick (2:20.73) rounded out the top 20, earning 12
th, 15
th, and 20
th respectively.
Sammi Trudeau also finished the race for the Big Green, posting a 2:24.04.
The Big Green will wrap up the UNH Carnival and Carnival season tomorrow with the 15K Freestyle on the Nordic side and slalom on the alpine side.
Dartmouth will then have a week off before hosting the NCAA Championship at Oak Hill and the Dartmouth Skiway.
