COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS--The Dartmouth Equestrian team wrapped up its regular season, dropping two meets in College Station, Texas on Friday.
In the first competition, the Big Green fell to the Aggies of Texas A&M, 6-2. Riley Dickman '27 won the first flat matchup of the day (74-69), but the team was unable to secure a second victory before halftime.
"We kept the rides really close in the first half", said head coach Tenley Walsh. "Every flat ride was separated by five points or fewer."
Over fences, Elise Stephens '28 won her contest (89-81) before the Aggies took the next three points.
"Elise earned the high score of the meet over fences," said Walsh. "She was impressive in both meets, and I'm excited to see her compete in her first postseason."
During the second meet, UC Davis topped Dartmouth 6-2. Earning over-fences points during the second half for the Big Green was Cassidy Exner '27 and Samantha Takacs '27. Exner was named the meets Most Outstanding Performer over fences.
"Sam remained composed even on a tough horse and was able to give her horse a soft yet forward ride," said Walsh. "And Cassidy continues to enter the ring with a well-thought-out plan. She adapts to meet each horse's needs. For the second straight season, both have been incredibly consistent for us."
The team begins its postseason run March 21-22 at the ECAC tournament in Charleston, South Carolina.
"We're looking forward to getting back to Charleston," said Walsh. "There were a lot of positives with today's rides, and we gained valuable saddle time ahead of our postseason."
