HANOVER, N.H. — Following a 17-save performance, Dartmouth men's lacrosse senior goaltender
Mason Morel has been named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) National Team of the Week, as announced on Wednesday. Morel allowed just five goals in the Big Green's 17-5 victory over Hobart. He is one of 10 student-athletes recognized in the nation this week, along with the only goaltender and only Ivy League student-athlete honored.
Â
Morel is Dartmouth's second straight USILA honoree following junior defenseman
Thomas Goguen last week. Morel finished with an impressive 77.3 save percentage for the day, which included stopping 13-of-14 shots sent his way in the second half. For the season, he owns a stellar 59.9 save percentage and 9.05 goals against average — good for 10th and 20th in the nation, respectively.
Â
The Big Green have won five straight games, their longest win streak since 2004 and return to action on Saturday at Penn. Opening faceoff is set for 7 p.m. at Franklin Field.
