PRINCETON, N.J. — Following another stellar performance at Penn on Saturday, senior goaltender
Mason Morel was named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Morel finished with 14 saves, allowing just eight goals in the Big Green's huge 9-8 overtime victory over the 16th-ranked Quakers.

Morel stopped seven-of-nine shots sent his way after halftime, including a save on the opening possession of overtime. In the process, he helped Dartmouth pick up first win over Penn since 2013 and first win at Penn since 2005. It was the Big Green's first win over a nationally-ranked opponent since 2005 as they are off to their best start (7-1) since 2003.

For the season, Morel owns a 60.3 save percentage, which is seventh in the nation. Over his last three games, he has 47 saves, allowing just 22 goals (68.1 save percentage).

As a team, Dartmouth moved up to No. 18 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll, while entering the USILA Coaches Poll for the first time, also coming in at 18. The Big Green return home on Saturday to host Princeton (ranked No. 4 in both polls). It's Youth Lacrosse Day and Autism Awareness for the 12 p.m. opening faceoff.
