PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The women's golf team closed competition at the Rutgers Invitational Sunday, shooting a +12 for the third low round of the overall tournament, moving into third place (+61).
Hope Hall led the way in the final round of competition, shooting a -1 with four birdies to jump 18 spots in the overall standings, finishing in 12
th. Hall finishes the tournament with a +14 overall.
Alissa Xu finished the tournament in 14
th, the third best Big Green finisher. Xu tallied one birdie in her +6 seventh round.
Olivia Cong also jumped multiple positions in the standings, moving up from 27
th to 18
th. She shot a +2 final rounds with two birdies, finishing the tournament with a +16.
Sophie Thai rounded out the top 20 finishers, finishing with a +17. Thai shot a +5 with one birdie on the final 18.
Victoria Tan, who only played one round of golf due to an injury on the first day of the tournament, was able to post a +8 in the third round.
Competing as an individual,
Caroline Chung finished tenth overall for the Big Green with a three-round score of +13. Chung shot a +5 on the final round.

Alex Kirk said the weather was more spring like Sunday, helping the team's performance.
"I am proud of the team for trying their best and fighting back," Kirk said. Hope [Hall} was steady, Olivia [Cong] bounced back, and
Caroline Chung had a strong tournament."
With the Rutgers Invitational wrapped, the Big Green will have one more regular season tournament at Navy before the Ivy League Championship.
"We have one more event to prepare for Ivies. I think we are improving and heading in the right direction to defend out Ivy League title," Kirk said.
The Big Green will be on the course next weekend in Maryland for the Navy Invite. Competition will be on Saturday, April 12 and Sunday, April 13.
