The Big Green women's sailing team competed the fourth day of racing in the Inter-collegiate Sailing Association Women's Fleet Race National Championship, Friday. Dartmouth sailed in 26 races, finishing in tenth place.
After six races on Thursday, the Big Green entered the final day of racing in fifth place. Three straight top ten finishes, including a third-place finishing position in the sixth A Division race moved Dartmouth into fourth place.
Three of the Big Green's next four races into the seventh set of races were outside the top ten, but a third-place finish in the seventh B Division race put Dartmouth right back into the mix.
In the next two A Division races, the Big Green earned two top ten finishes, seventh and fourth, before falling to ninth place.
Over the final 13 races, the Big Green earned six top ten finishes, but were unable to climb any higher, finishing the women's fleet race national championship in tenth.
Stanford, the lone team below 200 total points, won the national championship, posting 68 points in the A Division and 130 points in the B Division.
Tulane won the B Division with 86 total points and finished second overall with 209 points. Harvard, Yale, and Cornell followed to round out the top five.
With the women's national championship complete, the Big Green will shift their focus to the ICS Open Fleet Race National Championship set to begin next Tuesday, May 27.
