Open Sailing Finishes ICSA Fleet Race National Championship in Third

After the first day of championship racing was canceled due to weather, the Big Green returned to the water for 14 races to determine a national champion. Dartmouth, with 56 A Division points and 28 B Division points, finished third overall.

The Big Green got out to a dominant start, posting sixth place and first place finishing positions in the first set of races to jump into second place. Eighth and second place finishing positions in the second races bumped the Big Green into first overall.

Dartmouth then earned ninth, 11^th, and 14^th finishing positions in the next three races to fall to fifth before maintaining a steady climb back to third place.

Five of the Big Green's remaining seven races were top ten finishes. Will Michels and Reese Bragg's best finish in the A Division came in the fifth race when they finished second overall.

In the B Division, Phoebe Lee and Chase Decker posted the third lowest overall score, 36 points. While their best finish was first in their first race, they also finished second in the sixth race to help the Big Green secure third.

Dartmouth matched it's finish from last year's ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship when they also came in third overall.
