TEMPE, Ariz.—The Intercollegiate Tennis (ITA) announced its regional awards this week. Dartmouth women's tennis won a trio New England region awards. Elizabeth Fahrmeier was awarded the ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship award, Michela Moore was named ITA Player to Watch, while the team won the ITA Community Service Award.
Fahrmeier closed out her senior season with an 8-7 doubles record along with three wins in dual matches. The Cincinnati, Ohio native earned Academic All-Ivy honors along with being named to the CSC Academic All-District team.
Moore had a tremendous sophomore season as she earned All-Ivy Second Team honors in singles and All-Ivy First Team honors in doubles. Last week it was announced that Moore and her doubles partner Peyton Capuano were ranked the top doubles team in New England. Moore also earned a 14th overall ranking in the region in singles.
As a team Dartmouth women's tennis has been a staple in the community, this season the Big Green volunteered with multiple organizations. Dartmouth has help build houses, prepared meals for people in need while also being a huge part of the Dartmouth Girls and Women in Sports Day clinic.
