PRAGUE, Czechia – On Tuesday, Czech Ice Hockey announced its women's hockey roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy, including sophomore goaltender Michaela Hesová.
Hesová, who has represented her country at multiple tournaments, including most recently at the Women's Euro Hockey Tour, becomes the tenth Olympian in program history.
During the 2024-25 season, Hesová was dominant between the pipes, setting the single season program saves record with 848 and posting a .922 save percentage for the eighth best single season save percentage in program history.
In her first career game in green, she made 42 saves, allowing only one goal against nationally ranked Penn State. Hesová made a season high 49 saves in an overtime loss to Minnesota State. The second half of the season saw the Big Green ride a seven-game unbeaten streak, led by the first-year goaltender. Hesová played in six of those seven games, allowing only seven goals and making 116 total saves. To wrap the season, she posted a 36 save shutout against then No. 7 St. Lawrence.
During her sophomore campaign, Hesová has played in 13 games, making 12 total starts. She's posted a 2.71 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. In the Big Green's third game of the year, the goaltender posted 34 saves to lead Dartmouth to a 4-2 victory over No. 9 Colgate, her most saves in a game this season. Hesová has also made 30 or more saves in three additional games.
Hesová joins Gretchen Ulion '94, Sarah Tueting '98, Cherie Piper '06, Rachel Rochat '95, Kristin King '02, Gillian Apps '06, Katie Weatherston '06, Sarah Parson '10, and Laura Stacey '16 as the Big Green Olympians. She is the first to represent Czechia and the fifth to play in the Olympics while still a student at Dartmouth.
