LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – The Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association carnival season kicked off this past weekend with the Nordic races of the St. Lawrence Carnival. The Big Green currently sit in second place with 420 points following two men's and two women's races at Mt. Van Hoevenberg.

On Friday, skiers raced the 10K Classic, as
Ava Thurston and
John Steel Hagenbuch both came away with the individual wins. Thurston for the women finished in 29:48.8, a whole 34 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Hagenbuch won the men's race with a time of 25:35.6, winning by 1:14. Dating back to last year's EISA season, this is the fifth straight race Hagenbuch as won.

The next Dartmouth finisher on the men's side was first-year
Tory Hoffman, finishing seventh overall with a time of 27:50.4.
Jack Lange was less than a second behind, finishing ninth overall with a 27:51.3 to round out the top ten.

Following a strong first NCAA performance last,
Cooper Camp finished 12
th in his first EISA race this season, finishing with a 27:54.
Henry Magill was the next Dartmouth finisher, posting a 28:46.7. He was immediately followed by
Aaron Power who finished in 28:52.9.

Micah Bruner,
Dustin Hay, and
Aidan Jacobus were the final Big Green finishers, crossing the finish lines with times of 29:10.6, 29:17.8, and 29:30.0 respectively.

In addition to Thurston's win on Day 1 on the women's side, the Big Green had three additional skiers finish in the top 15.
Evie Walton finished eighth with a 31:37.5, followed by
Amelia Tucker in 11
th (31:52.4) and
Maeve Ingelfinger in 14
th (32:33.8).

Adele Horning was the next Dartmouth finisher, posting a 31:52.4, good for 24
th overall. Teammate
Anja Grover finished 14 seconds later, earning 26
th with a time of 33:49.6.

In their first races with the Big Green, first-years
Caroline Menna and
Ava Schneider finished in 34:39.1 and 34:47.6 respectively.

Grace Zanni (34:56.6),
Helen Townley (35:07.2), and
Virginia Cobb (36:04.8) also crossed the finish line for the Big Green.

On Tuesday, Dartmouth competed in the freestyle sprint, led once again by Thurston. The senior posted a 3:15.61 to win her second consecutive race of the 2026 EISA season, beating the second-place finisher by four seconds. Ingelfinger rounded out the top five, posting a 3:16.52 to finish fifth overall.

Walton finished just three tenths of a second out of sixth place, claiming seventh overall with a 3:23.90. Zanni also finished in the top 15, finishing 24
th with a 3:31.21.

Grover (3:32.28), Cobb (3:35.87), Menna (3:35.93), Schneider (3:42.44) and Horning (3:47.38) also finished for the Big Green.

In the men's sprint, Dartmouth was led by
Aaron Power, whose 2:52.17 earned him 15
th overall. Bruner was less than five tenths of a second behind, finishing in 18
th with a 2:52.61.

Camp (2:55.25), Jacobus (2:57.35), Hay (2:57.97), Lange (2:58.35), Magill (3:00.63) and Hoffman (3:01.21) also finished for the Big Green.

After four races and the completion of Nordic competition, the Big Green sit in second place with 420 points, 50 points behind the first place Vermont Catamounts. The St. Lawrence Carnival will conclude on Thursday, January 22 and Friday January 23 with the men's and women's slalom and giant slalom at Whiteface.

Before then though, Dartmouth skiing  will be back in action next weekend, as alpine racing will kick off the Colby Carnival on Friday, January 16 and Saturday, January 17.
