HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth skiing team earned second place at the UVM Carnival this past weekend, posting 797.5 total points and collecting two overall wins, thanks to
Oscar Zimmer and
Zoe Zimmermann.
Competition started with the giant slalom on Thursday, as Zimmer skied to a second-place overall finish with a time of 2:03.29. Zimmer's 1:02.87 first run time and 1:00.42 second run time were both second best of the field.
Dan Gillis was the next Dartmouth finisher, claiming 15
th overall with a time of 2:05.79.
Calum Langmuir was the next Dartmouth finisher, earning 21
st with a time of 2:06.55.
Philip Lundquist finished 33
rd (2:07.69) as the final Dartmouth finisher.
Sawyer Reed,
Benny Brown, and
Heming Sola also suited up for the Big Green but did not finish their runs.
On the women's side,
Carly Elsinger led the way with a second-place finish, posting a time of 2:08.81, her best finish of the 2026 season.
Emma Resnick rounded out the top-ten, posting a 2:10.44 to claim tenth place overall. In her first race of the year Noémie Longchamps finished 16
th overall, posting a 2:11.55.
Zoe Zimmermann rounded out the top-20, finishing 19
th (2:11.76).
Sammi Trudeau was not far behind, finishing 21
st overall, just three tenths of a second behind Zimmermann in 19
th.
Alexa Elliff was just behind, finishing in 22
nd (2:12.39).
Emma Reynolds also dressed for the Big Green, but did not finish her first run.
After day one of competition, Dartmouth was in second overall with 196 total points, behind only Middlebury with 222 points.
On day 2, the alpine team raced the slalom while the Nordic team competed in the classic sprint.
Zimmer skied to his second slalom win of the year, posting the second best run one time and third best run two time. His 1:48.78 overall won the race by four one hundredths of a second.
Six of his eight races this EISA carnival season have been podium finishes, while seven of the eight have been in the top five.
Langmuir also earned a podium finish, claiming third overall with a time of 1:49.37, his second podium in only his third race of the year.
Finishing just off the podium was Sola. He posted the third fastest run one time (52.54) before finishing run two in 57 seconds flat, finishing just under two tenths of a second behind teammate Langmuir.
Lundquist earned seventh overall with a 1:50.14.
Sawyer Reed and
Dan Gillis were the next Dartmouth finishers, going back-to-back to claim tenth and eleventh overall. Reed finished in 1:50.74 while Gillis posted a 1:51.05.
Benny Brown (1:54.96) was the final Dartmouth finisher, claiming 22
nd.
Zimmermann rounded out alpine racing with a win for the Big Green. The senior earned her second win of the season, finishing in 1:53.87. Her 55:47 run one time and her 58.4 run two time were both the fastest of the field.
Elsinger posted her second top-ten finish of the weekend, claiming ninth overall with a time of 1:57.49.
Resnick earned 11
th overall, finishing in 1:57.66. Longchamps claimed 14
th (1:58.58) as the final Dartmouth finisher. Reynolds and Elliff also suited up but did not finish.
On the Nordic side,
Aaron Power claimed eighth overall in the sprint to lead the Big Green, finishing in 3:37.4
Cooper Camp was the next finisher, claiming 17
th with a time of 3:37.3.
Tory Hoffman finished 24
th (3:32.7) followed by
Aidan Jacobus (3:41.7),
Micah Bruner (3:41.9),
Jack Lange (3:48.6), and
Henry Magill (3:55.1).
For the women's sprint,
Amelia Tucker led the way, finishing just two tenths of a second off the podium. Her 4:03.4 earned her fourth overall.
Evie Walton was the next Dartmouth finisher, claiming 13
th overall with a time of 4:13.2.
Helen Townley (4:13.5),
Anja Grover (4:16.2),
Caroline Menna (4:16.2),
Adele Horning (4:24.8),
Virginia Cobb (4:20.9), and
Ava Schneider (4:20.9) also finished for the Big Green.
Grace Zanni was suited up but did not start.
After Day 2 of skiing and the conclusion of the alpine portion of the UVM Carnival, Dartmouth sat tied for first overall with 607 total points.
The UVM Carnival concluded with the 10K freestyle on Saturday. Lange and Camp were the first Dartmouth finishers, going back-to-back to claim eighth and ninth overall. Lange finished in 26:53.8 while Camp finished in 26:57.2
Bruner was the next Big Green finisher, posting a time of 27:57.7 to finish 17
th overall.
Dustin Hay rounded out the top-20, crossing the finish line in 27:35.4.
Jacobus (27:45.5), Hoffman (28:18.2), Power (28:39.2), and Magill (29:24.2) also finished for the Big Green.
On the women's side,
Ava Thurston was the top Dartmouth finisher, claiming fifth overall with a time of 30:25.5. Walton rounded out the top ten, finishing ninth overall with a time of 31:02.3.
Menna was the next Big Green finisher, finishing tied for 13
th overall in 31:23. Tucker was just six tenths of a second behind, finishing 15
th.
Townley (32:18.3), Grover (33:35.1), Schneider (33:45.9), Cobb (34:21.2), and
Adele Horning (34:50.8) also finished for the Big Green.
Dartmouth concluded the UVM Carnival in second place, posting 797.5 total points. The Big Green will be back in action this upcoming weekend, skiing at the Williams Carnival.
The carnival will kick off with the 15K freestyle and giant slalom on Friday, February 13 and conclude with 3x5 classic relay and slalom on Saturday, February 14.
