PRINCETON, N.J. – On Monday, the Ivy League announced its weekly awards, recognizing
Eddie Albert as the league's pitcher of the week.

Albert made his second start of the season against the reigning national champions No. 2 LSU, Sunday, throwing a nearly perfect outing.

The senior threw exactly 100 pitches in seven innings against the Tigers. Albert allowed only three hits, giving up two runs, only one of which was earned.

He also fanned eight, recording one strikeout in each inning and two in the fifth, including striking out the last batter he would face. Albert also tallied his 100
th career strikeout, reaching the feat on his second K of the game. He now has 106 in his career.

Albert now leads all Big Green starters with a 3.72 ERA and 9.2 innings pitched. Opponents have only a .189 batting average against the senior. His 11 strikeouts this season ranks second on the team.

The Big Green will be back in action this weekend, heading to Maryland for a four-game series with Navy. The first game is set for Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m.
