KENT ISLAND, MD—Dartmouth women's golf closed out its spring trip with a second place finish at the Prospect Bay Invitational. Sophie Thai finished tied for first in the event while Hope Hall and Sophia Li tied for fourth. The tournament was slated for 54 holes but due to weather it was a 36-hole tournament with the top four scores counting each round.
Thai opened the tournament by shooting a +2 74 in the first round, the round featured three birdies. She finished the second round with a 75 while notching an eagle and a birdie.
Hall tied for fourth in the 36-hole tournament. She started the weekend with an 80 in the first round but responded with a +1 73 in the second round. She carded four birdies in the second round.
Li also finished +9 on the tournament and tied with Hall in fourth place. In the first round she carded an 81. In the second round she bounced back with an even 72 which was the best score in the second round for the Big Green.
Alissa Xu finished +12 on the weekend with back-to-back solid rounds to land her in the top 20. She carded a 79 with a pair of birdies in the first round and notched a trio of birdies while shooting a 77 in the second round.
Olivia Cong carded a 79 and a 78 as she finished +13 on the weekend. In the first round she was the second best player for the Big Green as she finished with a 79. In the second round she shaved a stroke off and finished with a 78.
Claire Wan closed out play for the Big Green as she finished +14 across the 36 holes. She shot an opening round 81 but responded with a 77 in the second round.
The Big Green have just one more tournament ahead of the Ivy League Championships on April 24-26. Dartmouth travels to New Jersey to compete in the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, April 11 and Sunday, April 12 to close the regular season.
