TAMPA, Fla. – After finishing fourth in the Eastern Semifinal of the Intercollegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) Women's Fleet Race National Championship on Saturday, Dartmouth kicked off competition in championship sailing on Sunday.
The Big Green posted 79 A Division points and 49 B Division points, the sixth best of the field, combining for 138 total points and sitting in 14th overall with one day of sailing left. Each division competed in six races, as the Big Green as a while sailed in 12 total races.
The A Division's best finish was 11th overall, earning the finishing position in both the fourth and sixth race.
The B Division got out to a good start, opening the day with a third-place overall finish. They followed with two straight top ten finishes, claiming sixth overall in the second and third races, before closing the day with three finishes just shy of the top ten.
As a team, the Big Green sit just one point shy of Georgetown in 13th and 13 points out of the top ten. Yale leads the way with 57 total points, followed by Stanford (64), Bowdoin (80), Charleston (81), and Cornell (90) rounding out the top five.
