PRINCETON, N.J. – On Wednesday, the Ivy League announced its All-Ivy awards, naming junior
James Frederikson as Dartmouth's Academic All-Ivy honoree.
Student-athletes earn Academic All-Ivy recognition for their contributions both in the classroom and in their sport.
Frederikson, a psychology major, has been an integral part of the Big Green's Varsity 8. The junior helped Dartmouth to a fourth-place overall finish at Eastern Sprints last weekend, as the Big Green finished just four tenths of a second off of the podium and taking home bronze.
Dartmouth also saw success in the spring season against Yale, as the Varsity 8 won its second straight Olympic Axe, posting a time of 5:35.9 to earn the win.
During the spring season, the Big Green's premier boat also swept races against Syracuse to win the Packard Cup, Wisconsin, and Boston University, also winning the Bill Cup. Dartmouth's Varsity 8 also defeated Hobart and Georgetown to open its spring season.
Heavyweight rowing will be back in action in a little over a week, traveling to California to compete in the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship. Competition on Lake Natoma will begin on Friday, May 29 with races also taking place on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31.
More information on how to follow the Big Green at this year's national championship will be available on DartmouthSports.com.
