JUNIOR (2018): All-America Second Team in the 5K Classical by finishing ninth at NCAA Championship … All-East First Team … USCSCA National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team ... placed 15th in the 15K Freestyle at NCAAs as well … four podium finishes in her six carnival races prior to the championships … best finish came at St. Lawrence, placing second in the 10K Freestyle … missed weekends at Vermont and the home Winter Carnival, but returned at Williams to take third in the 5K Classical … claimed third in both races at the East Regional hosted by Middlebury … had two top-10 showings at the U.S. Cross Country Championships in the Classic Sprint and 20K Classic prior to the carnival season
SOPHOMORE (2017): All-East First Team … tied for 33rd in the 5K Classical at the NCAA Championships, but was unable to race in the 15K freestyle … USCSCA National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team ... registered three podium finishes in freestyle races over the first three carnivals, including a win in the season-opening 5K at St. Lawrence … finished third for other two podium stops at New Hampshire and Vermont … also had top-five showings in classical races at UNH (fourth) and UVM (fifth) … missed the home carnival and Middlebury, but returned in time to take sixth in the 15K Freestyle at the EISA Championships at Bates.
FRESHMAN (2016): All-East Second Team … EISA Women’s Nordic Skier of the Week on Feb. 9 after two podium finishes at Vermont, including a win in the 5K Freestyle … placed in the top 10 in four other scored races during carnival season, taking fifth in the freestyle at Williams and seventh in both races at the EISA Regional hosted by Middlebury … entered NCAA Championship as the fourth-ranked skier in the East in freestyle, eighth in classical and sixth overall.
BEFORE DARTMOUTH: Lydia was a two-time letter-winner in track and field and three-time letter-winner in cross country and Nordic skiing at West Anchorage High School ... served as the captain for both the Nordic skiing and cross country teams her sophomore and senior seasons ... the individual champion at the Alaska State Championships for Nordic skiing her sophomore and senior year and team champions her sophomore year ... Region IV team and individual champions in cross country ... named to the all-state ski team and All-American Team her freshman, sophomore and senior seasons for Nordic skiing.
PERSONAL: Lydia is the daughter of Dave Blanchet and Ellen Toll ... her mother was a Nordic skier at Williams (1973-77), and her father was an alpine skier at Williams (1968-72) ... music enthusiast and enjoys rock climbing.
