Q and A with Corrinne
Why Dartmouth?
I knew I could get a top notch education while still skiing for a NCAA Division I school. When I applied, they had just won the National Championship, which was even more incentive to be part of such an awesome school.
How long have you been skiing and what got you interested in skiing?
I have been skiing since I was two years old. I grew up in Carson City, just 30 minutes away from Lake Tahoe. My parents were recreational skiers and even used to race back "in their day". They put my older brother Danny, who is two years older than me, in the local Mt. Rose race program and all I wanted to do is be like him. My parents would drop us off at the mountain at 8, and I would chase him all over the mountain until the lifts closed at 4.
Have you won any academic or skiing awards recently?
I won Most Improved Alpine Woman in the 2009-2010 season.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
This may not come as much of a surprise to my teammates, because they know me pretty well, but I love country music. When I go home to Nevada, I'm refreshed by our multiple country radio stations. Also I played golf in high school and went to the State Championships in Nevada.
What are your future plans, if any?
Right now I am working on a Biomedical Engineering degree. I'm not sure what I want to do yet when I graduate, but I am fascinated with learning how things work, engineering and innovating. We will see...
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I'm a member of Sigma Delta Sorority. Also I have dabbled with intramural basketball.
