vs UNH Day 1 (EISA Championship)
Q and A with Jake:
Why Dartmouth?
Dartmouth has always been one of the big NCAA skiing contenders and I wanted to be a part of their success. And my mother taught me to value a good education which I hope to find here.
How long have you been skiing and what got you interested in skiing?
I first skied when I was two years old on slopes of Squaw Valley USA. My interest in the sport was influenced at first by my parents passion for skiing, but I soon learned to love the freedom and speed that is possible to achieve when attached to skis.
Have you won any academic or skiing awards recently?
In 2010 I won a Junior Championship Slalom and I also won Junior Olympics when I was younger. I was on the Far West Skiing Acedemic Team throughout high school.
Tell me something interesting about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates.
My teammates and I all love the sport of ski racing, but what they don't know is my love for soul skiing. Soul skiing is a particular kind of skiing that originated in the Western United States. I am very passionate about soul skiing and hope to actively participate in it for the rest of my life.
What are your future plans, if any?
I plan to continue ski racing throughout college, and when I graduate I would either like to compete on the World Cup circuit or become a professional free skier. As for a career, I have yet to pick one.
