Before Dartmouth:
Comes to Dartmouth from Academic Magnet High School in Charleston, SC. High school lacrosse, sailing, captain of the rugby team, and fencing (Junior Olympics 2011).
Personal:
Parents Christopher and Kelly, sister Emma Kate (12 years), dog Harlequin
Why Dartmouth:
I actually had almost no intention of studying in the US, but I came to Dimensions on a whim and ended up falling in love with the school and the people here.
How long have you been riding?
I’d never ridden before coming to Dartmouth, but I had always really wanted to! I knew that there was a team here and came across an old PE ad while looking for lessons. The coach informed me that, while the PE class no longer exists, she could train me for the team, which I ended up doing over sophomore summer.
Outside of Equestrian what other activites are you involved in?
Other than Equestrian, I am currently a member of the Dartmouth Fencing Club, a TA for Comp Lit, and a drill instructor. For my studies, I am assisting with research in the French Dept, plan to go abroad next term as the TA for the French LSA to Lyon, and am in the process of writing my French/Art History thesis. I also work in the Theater Production Dept. (mainly as a stage manager) and participate in DartMUN (Model United Nations) when I am not off in the winter.
Tell me something about yourself that may come as a surprise to your teammates.
I once ran a footrace with a bunch of strangers on the original track at Olympia in Greece. The prize was lunch.
What are your future plans?
After Dartmouth, I plan on doing post-grad at the Sorbonne in Paris (for History) and then hopefully some sort of museum/historical site curation work in France.
